Terms of use

Last updated: 10 August 2026.

Make It Exact is free to use and requires no account. Using it means accepting the terms below.

What the results are

Estimates for planning. The calculators are tested and their formulas are published, but a result depends entirely on the figures entered and on assumptions that may not match your situation — ground that is not level, a product whose yield differs from the one you were quoted, a code requirement specific to where you are building.

Nothing here replaces an engineer, an architect, a surveyor, a supplier’s confirmation, or professional financial, medical or legal advice. For anything structural, load-bearing or subject to building control, have the figures checked by someone qualified and insured to check them. Decisions taken on the basis of a result, and any material ordered as a result, are yours.

Liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose, and without any guarantee of availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on a result — including wasted material, delay or cost overrun. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

Use of the site

You may use these calculators freely, for personal or commercial work, and quote a result in your own documents. You may not scrape or systematically copy the site to republish it, present its content as your own, or interfere with its operation.

The text, page structure, formulas as expressed in code, and the design are the publisher’s. The underlying mathematics is not — nobody owns the volume of a cylinder. Figures attributed to a manufacturer belong to that manufacturer and are cited, not claimed.

External links

Sources are linked so you can verify them. Those sites are not under our control and their content may change or move after the date shown next to the citation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, where the publisher is established. Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which they live, and a consumer may bring proceedings before the courts of their own place of residence. Publisher details are on the legal notice.
